For a long time, I tried. I tried this and that and none of it worked. I tried staying in my comfort zone, I tried stepping out of my comfort zone. None of it seemed to bring me to my true passion in life.
Your passions are a key to a lot of determining factors of your future. It will define your happiness, your motivation, your realest self, and will allow you to actually be happy going in to work on Monday morning (and seriously, who doesn’t want that?)
It seems as if our passions have been buried deep down and locked up in a place we cannot reach. Whether it is fear or insecurities, thousands and thousands of people have chosen to just leave it locked, leave it buried, and simply move on. They find a job that pays the bills; drag into work on a daily basis, and continuously live a stressful life with little to no time to themselves.
Well, not me. I refuse to live a life where work is more important, where I live unhappily trying to live my happiest life. Where relationships, and friendships and self-love completely go down the drain in the process of it. I believe I have found my passion. I believe I know what will make me work with a smile, have the motivation to keep going (and trust me, I need it a whole lot), and although there are thousand of ways to find your passions, I’m going to start you off with the smallest of secrets that got me started and that lead me to finding my passion.
Are you ready?
STOP PRIORITIZING MONEY!
Now hold on, hold on. I know, you got bills to pay, mouths to feed, debt, and a million other things money is useful for in our materialistic world, but bear with me here while I present to you
DUN DUN DUN
If you see a girl desperately trying to chase a guy, what are the chances she will get the guy?
If you see a girl playing hard to get, sticking true to her personality and her beliefs, and letting the guy chase her, what are the chances she will get the guy?
Here’s another secret (just for fun):
“Do what you love and the money will follow” – Marsha Sinetar
Don’t be that desperate girl trying to get that guy’s attention. He’s just going to ignore you. But as soon as you stick true to yourself and your personality, he will come after you for that exact reason. (Hopefully you understood the metaphor or else this made absolutely no sense, and things are gonna start getting awkward right about now…)
We’re going to make money step down from the pedestal we’ve placed it on for a minute and actually see the bigger picture.
The famous question is, what would you be doing if money stepped down from the pedestal. Would you still be chasing the same dreams? Would your goals change? Would your job change? Would you have to start over?
Now of course, there are many other factors that impede you from finding your passion, and we will bring those up later on. But for now, prioritize yourself. Prioritize what makes you giddy and happy and determined.
Don’t put money back up on the pedestal.
And if you would like, feel free to print out the worksheets I have included to get you started and to get you thinking.
